Loud Noises!

WINNING...Realised that we've abused the website recently in favour of twitter and facebook...mainly as we've been running a guest list competition for the upcoming The Enemy tour.  It's rare for us to be able to run a competition that actually has a decent prize but I think based on the response it's been a good one for our fans.  Hope the winners have fun and buy us a drink ;)

Things are very busy at the moment, being unsigned and unrepresented means we have loads of stuff do ourselves to get ready for the tour and also a very cool 'This Feeling' show in London on 10th November.  We think it might be our first London show...which if it is London had better brace itself.

We'll hopefully be putting another tune online this week ahead of the Western Super Mare show on the 28th September.

We are so happy with all the feedback, new fans and amazing shows that we have coming up and we realise how lucky we are.  We're working hard to make this work so that those that are showing faith in us get the most from their support.

Assembly gig (25/08)

It's been a while since we posted on here, how are you all?

So what have we been up to....

We are in the process of moving studios at the moment so it's been a bit hectic in the Antics camp.  For the last few months we've been busy writing and recording some new material, which we are very excited for you to hear.  The new tunes have got a proper Stones swagger and they're going to fit in nicely with the big party tunes we'll be playing live in the upcoming gigs.

The new tracks are currently away being mixed by the very talented John Ridgard of COVES and as soon as they are done we'll have them up here for you to have a listen.

We've also been busy planning for the tour in October supporting The Enemy - have you seen our competition?  We're giving away a pair of guest list tickets to each of the shows.  Check our Facebook page for details.

Also, we are having a pre-tour party at The Assembly Rooms in Leamington Spa with some great local bands and top DJ's, including a set from Tom Clarke!  It's gonna be MINT, see you down the front!

Manchester

Supporting The Enemy in Coventry on the day they released what we think will become a landmark album is going to take some beating. The love from the Cov crowds was pure class.

As we come down from an amazing two days, it's incredible to think we'll be playing in Manchester tonight. it almost goes without saying that for many people, Manchester is the music capital of Britain. For years it's been the heart and soul of music that matters. We've had the privilege of playing some great cities and venues in the last year or so but for us the show at Manchester Academy tonight feels special and we literally can't wait.

The Antics confirmed to support The Enemy...free download of new tune 'Down on you'

We've been sat on this one a while but we're pleased to finally confirm that The Antics are supporting The Enemy on 21st and 22nd May in Coventry.

Coventry City Council should hang their heads in shame for essentially blocking the use of the Cathedral as the venue.  The Enemy, Reverend and the Makers and of course The Antics are going to make this a night to remember and one the real people of Coventry can be proud of.

The Antics confirmed for Godiva 2012...free download

First of a few announcements over the next few weeks....we've been confirmed to play main stage Godiva 2012 with our good mates Russian Gun Dogs amongst others (The View, Pigeon Detectives, Cast).

Its bloody Monday already!!!

We've had such a class week this week!!! Banged BEAUTIFUL CHAOS up on soundcloud! And may I take this opportunity to say a massive thanks to everyone who listened,liked and passed around their friends and the net....you're the best!
We've got a brand new track coming this week to..so please keep visiting here and our soundcloud for that! But honest the reaction to BEAUTIFUL CHAOS has been sooo good! Makes all the hard work worth it!

We've been partying hard this weekend..The Enemy gig Thursday in Cov was immense..truly inspirational stuff..their new albums gonna rip the nation a new one (I hope they give away free sewing kits with every copy) ha...magical stuff!!
We then carried on through out the weekend and I am now currently Lying in bed with the fear and doom..but hey only two more days til the weekend..;)

First Look Interview

So, lads, what've you been up to?

We've been writing and recording new tunes, played a few gigs and checked out the competition, lots of great bands around at the moment.

How does the writing process work?

We all get together in a little room and bash out ideas. Doesn't matter who's playing what, we all swap instruments and throw stuff into the mix, then we start recording straight away. It captures the moment and the result is some really fresh stuff.

How would you describe the sound?

We're definitely a guitar band, but lately we started experimenting with new sounds. The electronic scene in the UK is unique and massive. All music is exciting and we try to pull inspiration from anywhere and everywhere. The way we use it is subtle though, like Primal Scream back in the day, or early nineties dance hits, anything goes, as long as it sounds exciting. 

When do we get to hear some stuff?

We're going to put a track online in the next week so people can get a taste. We're pretty confident people will love it.

Heard you had it pretty large when you played in Belfast, how was that?

We always have it large. Life's too short to sit at home watching the Antiques Roadshow. You've got to get out there, enjoy it while you're young, experience everything. We were made up to be able to go and play in Belfast for Guinness, the gig was amazing and the party afterwards was extreme. 

What's your aim for this year?

We're going to play as many shows as we can. Our philosophy is never turn a gig down. The album is coming along nicely in terms of songs, and the sound is constantly developing. We're going to try to build a big online following, as well as putting the graft in on the gig circuit. Respect doesn't come for free in music, it has to be earned, and we're not afraid to go out and earn our stripes.

TheAntics are now online, the website will be updated weekly by the band to bring you the latest news on recording and live dates! Stay tuned for exciting news in 2012!

Shortly there will be an update about what the lads have been up so far this year, with details of progress on recording and hopefully some video's, and an interview with the band!
